About UsRon's Love of music, (predominately 60's rock) and his 30+ years of live and studio was always overshadowed by his love of the engineers seat at the center of a studio mixer. Ron has trained in analog and digital domains, and has aquired a pluthera of musical talent. The ability to "produce" a song from its first initial thought, to its completed audio presentation, is a desire that not all musicians feel. Those who do, know exactly where Ron is coming from. Thirty years ago, Ron bought a JVC reel-to-reel with "Sound on Sound" capabilities. He was completely blown away by that technique, and he has never looked back. He advanced to a Teac 4-track with Simul-Sync Capabilities, and mixed with a six channel board. Next was the ultimate, a complete 8-track mixer and recorder all in one beautiful package (the Tascam Studio 8 '388'). This was the greatest, and he would never need to advance beyond this machine's abilities. However, the "thoughts and dreams" of a 'Professional Studio' with a 16- track, or even the unreachable 24-track board, always lingered in his mind. Today's technology has given many recording musicians the chance to finally reach those goals, and to reach them in a digital realm. Ron Looks back on over thirty years (albeit a hobby) in the music business and he tries to pick the one most satisfying moment. "There have been a few, but the ultimate one is now at Ram Music Studios." Of course, every engineer needs a qualified assistant, and to that partnership, Ron has the pleasure of working side by side with his son, Jeff, who is incidentally not only very knowledgeable in the role, but is also the designer/builder of this website, and the drummer/percussionist heard on the sample sound bytes included on the Audio Files page. Music is the international language, and is the one heard most at Ram Music Studios. |
